We apologize if you have experienced an issue using a plasmid that you received from Addgene.

The DNA concentration or volume is not as expected
Addgene ships Transfection-Ready DNA as 50 µg or 100 µg of DNA at a concentration of 1.0 µg/µL ± 2.5%. If there is an issue with the DNA concentration or volume, please send an email to help@addgene.org and include the following information:

1. Addgene order number
2. Addgene plasmid ID number
3. Date received
4. Storage conditions
5. DNA volume
6. DNA concentration and the method used to measure this

I have obtained an unexpected restriction digest or sequencing result with the plasmid I have received
We will be happy to address any restriction digest or sequencing concerns that you might have. Please send an email to help@addgene.org and include the following information:

1. Addgene order number
2. Addgene plasmid ID number
3. Data demonstrating the issue

For a diagnostic restriction digest of the plasmid, please include:

• DNA ladder with band sizes labeled
• Digested sample labeled with the enzyme(s) used
• Undigested sample

For Sanger sequencing results, please include:

• The .ab1 file (also called a trace file or chromatogram)
• The sequence of the primer used to obtain the result

For whole plasmid sequencing results, please include:

• The consensus sequence file (.fasta or .gbk file)
• Any other files relevant to the issue (e.g. histogram, .ab1, etc.)

As a nonprofit plasmid repository, we are unable to functionally test the plasmids we distribute and cannot troubleshoot problems with transfection, protein expression, or other functional issues. We recommend consulting the publication associated with the plasmid for additional information. 
If you suspect that the integrity of the DNA you received has been compromised, please contact help@addgene.org and include your results.
