Addgene antibodies are supplied as a liquid to avoid unnecessary freeze/thaw cycles. If you intend to use the antibody within one week, you may store it at 4 ˚C. When storing your antibody for more than one week, consult the item’s catalog page on our website for the optimal storage temperature, as each antibody may have different recommended storage temperatures.
If you are freezing your antibody, first centrifuge the sample for 30 seconds at 10,000 x g to draw down the liquid and then prepare single-use aliquots. Store single-use aliquots at -20 ˚C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Please consult the item's catalog page for the storage buffer. Some of Addgene's antibodies are stored in a buffer containing sodium azide to prevent microbial contamination. This buffer is not suitable for use in live cells and may interfere with conjugation. For applications such as these, the buffer can be removed by dialysis or gel filtration.
Please see the Institute for Protein Innovation (IPI) Help Center article for specific information on these antibodies.
