In order to ensure Addgene can equitably intake and distribute plasmids from across the entire scientific community, we are only able to accept a limited number of plasmids per deposit. Many researchers find it useful to deposit their most popular plasmids, often published plasmids, rather than a large collection of plasmids.
If you'd like to prioritize specific plasmids and reduce your deposit to <75 plasmids, we will process your plasmids immediately using our standard workflows. To do so, please visit our Plasmid Deposit webpage to download a spreadsheet that can be used to submit your plasmid data.
If you believe you need to deposit a collection that is greater than 75 plasmids, please let us know by contacting deposit@addgene.org. These deposits are considered large deposits and are exceptions to our standard workflow. We are unfortunately unable to accept all requests. Our large deposit process involves a unique workflow and requires that you follow a few additional guidelines and quality control measures.
We will first ask you to complete a large deposit questionnaire with important information regarding your collection. Addgene will review this information and determine whether we can accept your larger deposit. If accepted we will provide additional instructions on depositing your collection.
