For many institutions we send MTAs directly to the office responsible for approving these agreements, and they return the approved document to us without the need for the scientist to handle the agreement.
However, if we do not have a contact in our system for an authorized office, we will send the MTA directly to the requesting scientist listed on the order. The scientist will need to identify the correct legally authorized representative to obtain a signature and submit the signed MTA to us in one of two ways:
Option 1
To streamline the approval process, we now offer the option for any authorized representative to sign an MTA electronically through our website. The link for completing this signature can be accessed through the Order Status Page of the account used to place the order. If you are not the authorized signatory at your institution, please use the copy link button on that page and forward the link to the correct authorized representative.
Option 2
The MTA can be printed out from the order status page of the account used to place the order, and submitted to an authorized representative for a signature. The signed document can then be returned to Addgene using one of the following methods:
- Upload a single PDF file to the Order Status status page (preferred method)
- Email: Send a single PDF file to mta@addgene.org
- Fax: Send the packet to 1-888-734-0533 (US or International)
Addgene will then review and approve the MTA. We will contact you to let you know if it has been approved or if there is a problem with the signature or document that has been submitted.
IMPORTANT: Submitting an MTA with an unauthorized signature will delay your order by at least 1 business day. Addgene reserves the right to review and reject all signatures.
